Intellectual property
The texts, graphics, logo, and visual identity of the retropal.fr site and the Retro Pal application are the exclusive property of the publisher. Any reproduction, representation, modification, or exploitation of all or part of these elements, by any process and on any medium, is forbidden without prior written authorization from the publisher, and constitutes counterfeiting punishable under articles L.335-2 et seq. of the French Intellectual Property Code.
The source code of the Retro Pal application is, for its part, released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0). The "Retro Pal" name, logo, visual identity, and this website remain reserved and are not covered by that license.
Open-source software used
The Retro Pal application incorporates the following open-source components:
- mGBA, emulator for Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance, under the Mozilla Public License 2.0 (MPL-2.0). Source code available at mgba.io. Source code not modified.
- melonDS, emulator for Nintendo DS, under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0). Source code available at melonds.kuribo64.net. Source code not modified.
Retro Pal is itself distributed under the GPL-3.0 and uses these components without modification. The full license texts are available at the URLs above as well as inside the app, in Settings → Legal Notice & Licenses.
Fonts
The site uses the VT323, Newsreader, and JetBrains Mono typefaces, distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. They are self-hosted on our own servers and do not load any third-party resource.
Third-party trademarks
Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo DS are registered trademarks of Nintendo Co., Ltd. Apple, App Store and iPhone are registered trademarks of Apple Inc. These trademarks are mentioned on this site and in the application only descriptively, to indicate technical compatibility of Retro Pal. The publisher of Retro Pal is not in any way affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Nintendo or Apple.
Consumer mediation
In accordance with articles L.611-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, any consumer has the right to free recourse to a consumer mediator for the amicable resolution of a dispute with a professional. However, since most app-related purchases are made through the Apple App Store platform, disputes relating to a purchase should first be brought to Apple via support.apple.com/billing.
